Our time on Cuffysark sailing catamaran finally came to an end in March 2025 in Greece when we sold her to her new owners. We hope that they will enjoy her as much as we did. Cuffysark is no more as she is now under a new name.
So not to let the grass grow under our feet just a month later we flew to the USA and six weeks after saying goodbye to Cuffysark sailing catamaran, in May 2025, we now are the owners of Cuffysark Motor Yacht.
How it all started
Many years ago, so long ago I can’t remember, Ian persuaded me to pack up and sail off and see more of the world. I don’t exactly remember agreeing to this but yet again, he’s persuaded me that I did! This adventure started in May 2017.
We gave up work, me in September 2016 and Ian at Christmas 2016 and spent some time at the beginning of 2017 travelling around Asia.
Our travels
Our first season we set off on 8th May 2017 and sailed from Canvey Island, across to France then along the Atlantic coast and finally into the Mediterranean where we wintered in Cartagena, Spain.
We left Cartagena on 18th April 2018 and we took in more of Spain including the Balearics and then across to Sardinia and worked our way down to Sicily for the winter.
We spent our second winter in Licata, Sicily and our third season (2019) exploring Greece and her Islands before arriving in Kas, Turkey for the winter.
Cuffysark spent longer in Turkey than originally anticipated, a mixture of the covid pandemic and family health issues. Cuffysark was in Kas for two winters and in Finike, just a little way up the coast, for the following two winters.
We’d covered a lot of Turkey, including sailing up the Bosphorus to Istanbul, along the Black Sea up to Georgia and as far as Finike on the south coast. We’d gone east but by airplane/land and for me our most spectacular experience was visiting Cappadocia and flying in a hot air balloon. We visited the capital city, Ankara too.
Come May 2023 it was time to Go West (for those of an age I sung that as I typed it!). We spent much of our seventh season in the Adriatic going up as far as Venice, an amazing experience going in your own boat and then ended the season in Monastir, Tunisia for the winter.
For our eighth and final season on Cuffysark sailing catamaran we mooched around the Greek Islands.
Season nine begins with a new to us boat, a motor boat, and a completely different continent. We begin in Florida and hope to make our way along the east coast up to Canada and back down again.
