We have a Fountaine Pajot Mahe called “Cuffysark” which we purchased in 2012. For the last six weeks we have been preparing the boat for us to live aboard.
The hulls have had some gel coat repairs and a polish and a copper coating on the bottom of the boat so we don’t have to antifoul every year.
This is the saloon whilst Ian was working, and this is it now. Let’s hope it stays this way, which may be rather challenging with Ian’s tidy skills!
We converted one of the berths to a workshop which houses tools and various spares which can be converted back to a berth in about half an hour.
Launch – Cuffysark was launched back into the water on 27th April from Dauntless Boatyard, Benfleet who did a great job on the boat. From here we took her back to our home port of the Island Yacht Club, Canvey Island, Essex, UK.
The cockpit tent’s first use in Riveira to keep out the wind and rain. (August 2017)
Coppercoat hulls – September 2017
We’d had Coppercoat put on Cuffysark before we left in May 2017 and wanted to see what was on the bottom of the boat. So we moored up where it dried out on the sand in Praia de Faro, Portugal. The Coppercoat had done its job as there were no barnacles just a light covering of weed.
